Families and community members can gather in beautiful spring weather to make strides against dyslexia or participate with a virtual option. On Saturday, May 20th, the public is invited to join in the Walk for Dyslexia to benefit the Madison Area Children’s Dyslexia Center, which offers free, individualized tutoring for children who struggle with reading, writing, and spelling. In-person registration will begin at 7:30 am at Brittingham Park (829 W. Washington Avenue, Madison, WI). The 5K walk/fun run will start at 8:30 am. Participants are welcome to run or walk the course. No timing is provided.
Virtual Option: Now you can skip the port-a-potties, skip the check-in line and participate in the ultimate 5k event from the comfort of your own neighborhood—or even your own home! And you can invite out-of-town or even out-of-state friends and family to join in the fun—without ever seeing them. Participants can create their own course. Run a 5k around your neighborhood or at a local park. Or plot a walk from your bedroom to the kitchen and back again if you’d prefer. We encourage you to send a photo of your adventure to KKuenzie@cdcinc.org. We will be sharing photos on our Facebook page.
TEAMS: Grab your friends, colleagues, and family to form a team! All teams with five or more team members receive a $5 discount on their registration. Discounts will be enjoyed as a refund once your team has reached a minimum of 5 team members. Click through the registration process to start your team. If you are searching for a team already created, you can search for them on our walk website.
