About Us

We are the Children’s Dyslexia Center of the Madison Area

The Children’s Dyslexia Center of the Madison Area (CDC-M), is a member of Children’s Dyslexia Centers, Inc., a 501c3 organization with many centers throughout the United States. Children’s Dyslexia Centers, Inc. is a charitable organization of the Scottish Rite Masons. For over two decades, the Scottish Rite Masons have been national leaders in the effort to help children and their families overcome the painful obstacles of dyslexia. The Children’s Dyslexia Centers tackle the challenge of dyslexia head-on, by not only providing free tutoring for children with dyslexia, but also training a growing number of highly skilled and dedicated tutors.

CDC-M is accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) and the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).

Our Center’s mission is to:
  • Provide tutoring for students with dyslexia at no cost
  • Train tutors in phonics-based instruction in our community
  • Increase public awareness of dyslexia

The positive impact of early intervention on the lives of our students and their families is enormous and inspires our commitment to this program.
